I haven't stopped dreaming about that feeling while i couldn't breathe after blacking out at another party i didn't wanna be at
I thought the yellow freeway lights were the sunset & I was coming home from the beach wrapped up in a towel
The dazed warmth coming from the car kept me company while i thought i heard seagulls culling around me, feeling the sand between my toes
The humming of my mom & the radiostations soft static while we past every bridge kept me thinking maybe that question of what I wanted doesn't matter, because I felt like I never left
As my mind wondered I realized there was no response, maybe this was it & that I should've said something while i could've before I stopped thinking
That deja vu keeps saying you're chasing nothing, and maybe it was right but everytime I'm alone I hope it'll find the place where it's supposed to exist
